Barbados
Barbados situated just east of the Caribbean Sea, is an independent Continental Island-nation in the western Atlantic Ocean. For over three centuries Barbados was under British rule. Located at roughly 13° North of the equator and 59° West of the prime meridian, it is considered a part of the Lesser Antilles.
Barbados is known for its steady sideshore trade wind, which mostly stays within a range of 12 to 20 knots. The extremely constant winds make the spot ideal for beginners, too.
Kitesurfing lessons mostly take place on Silver Rock Beach, which is directly adjacent to Silver Sands. Here, we find perfect conditions on the 350-m-long sandy beach.
The Barbados spot can be classified as an excellent all-round venue. For those who do not kitesurf or windsurf there are plenty of enjoyable alternative activities on offer here.
